Green Coffee Extract Weight Loss

A recent study suggests that taking green coffee bean extract could be a safe and effective way to lose weight. The results of this research has even left top nutritionists amazed. In this review we look at these claims and answer your questions about it’s safety.

What is Green Coffee Extract?

The extract is taken from the same bean that is used to make your cup of coffee but before it has been roasted. Before it is roasted, coffee is rich in chlogenic acid. Studies found that an amount of green coffee taken daily before meals can help to lose weight the appearance of cellulite.

Now sold as a concentrated supplement, you can take one capsule that contains the equivalent of 2000mg of Pure Green Coffee.

Can you lose weight with Green Coffee Extract?

Researchers gave up to 1,050mg of green coffe extract to 16 overweight adults and monitored their diet, exercise, weight, heart rate and blood pressure for 22 weeks. Without any change to diet or exercise those who took part in the study lost an average of 17 pounds in overall body weight.

A larger trial involving 60 people is being planned but the results from this small study suggest that Green Coffe extract can help you to lose weight.

How green coffee extract contributes to weight loss is still unclear but much of the credit is given to the chlorogenic acid found in the unroasted beans. Some experts also suggest that it is down to the caffeine but it’s worth noting that Green Coffee is naturally low in caffeine.

The result is a weight loss supplement that works by boosting your metabolic rate so that you burn off more calories throughout the day.

What Dr Oz said about Green Coffee?

Following the publication of the research in to this new superfood supplement, Green Coffee has been featured on the Dr Oz Show. He explained that the Chlorogenic acid works by inhibiting the release of glucose in the body as well as boosting the metabolism. These two mechanisms work together to inhibit the absorption of fat and eliminate weight gain.

Green Coffee Extract Benefits

  • Inexpensive weight loss pill
  • No side-effects have been reported when taking the extract
  • Green Coffee can benefit those with high blood pressure
  • None of the stimulant effects of caffeine or coffee
  • Rich in antioxidants

Green Coffee Extract Review Verdict

Although the study shows Green Coffee extract to be effective for weight loss, the researchers were keen to highlight that it’s a supplement, not a substitute to a good diet and physical excercise.

Because coffee beans are cheap, this is one of the cheapest weight loss supplements available. Each capsule contains natural ingredients that can increase the metabolic rate so that you burn off more calories with no side effects.

So I saw the Dr. Oz show. There was a mention of how it effected the blood sugar. Is there any more information that would support a good blood sugar level?

    • Admin says:

Thanks for the question Brenda! You can read a detailed answer in our 'Weight Loss Answers' section which should have all the information you are looking for.

  2. Chasy says:

Is this the same pill that dr oz talked about

    • Admin says:

Dr Oz recommended a pill exactly like this one. It contains no fillers or binders and contains 200mg of Green Coffee Extract. Since the show we have seen a surge in the number of similar products but watch out for cheap versions and scams which bulk up the pills with other ingredients.

  3. WLPL Man says:

How much caffeine is in this product?

  5. Mel says:

I'm excited to try this product…but can someone please fix the spelling mistakes… It should be coffee with 2 e's on the end…The 2 headings you have are missing the 2nd e…I'm sorry…

    • Admin says:

Thanks for the feedback Mel, all fixed! Glad to hear that you are as excited about green coffee as we are.

  6. Mary says:

how much caffeine are in the pills?

    • Admin says:

The average 200mg dose of Green Coffee extract contains around 20mg of caffeine. That's less than half what you would find in a can of Diet Coke and around 5 times less than a cup of coffee.

  7. Diane says:

why don't you show the back of the label? I'd like to see it…

  8. barbara gandolo says:

I've been taking this for three weeks, eating less and still exercising. I have actually gained one pound. It all seems like b.s. to me, and I think Dr. Oz has lost all credibility and has been corrupted by the drug companies.

    • If you're eating less and exercising, the 1 lb gain could be muscle. It takes time for our bodies to adjust to changes. Do you notice a difference in how your clothes fit? It's not always about the number on the scale.
      Good luck to you though!

      • Amanda says:

I agree with barbara. I have a scale that also measures body fat percentage with weight. Ive been taking the supplement (800mg 2x a day 30 min before meals with full glass of water) and have also gained a pound. My body fat percentage went up .2% as well so it is not muscle. It a shame, really, I wanted to believe the hype.

  9. Jamie Troccoli says:

Does it actually help you lose weight? Does it decrease your appetite?

  10. Mallory says:

I suffer from Anxiety, I found the only way to avoid anxiety is to cut caffeine out of my diet. Would this pill affect my sleeping or make my anxiety come back?

  11. Cody Code says:

    Jamie,

It is not an appetite suppressant, but merely a weight loss supplement with ingredients that work with your body. Read this detailed article: http://www.top10weightloss.com/green-coffee-bean-
